August 2009

August of 2009 brought the first full year of living in Oskaloosa, Ia.  This year we got to visit Tennessee with my side of the family and then go to the Iowa State Fair.  The fair has been one of the year's highlights ever since Josh and I started dating and did the piano contest.  I think this year made the 8th or 9th year of me going to the fair.  I love it!
Our trip to Tennessee was amazing!! One of the highlights was doing a hike up the mountain in the rain.  Everyone was grumbling at how miserable it was but I enjoyed it. Yes, I'm that wierd.  Okay now for the pictures. :)

Putting the final touches on

On our way to Tennessee!
Our niece - soon to be a big sister!
Mia swimming
Sisters!

We made an ABC book for Jason for his 5th birthday.  The "J" page was of him and his uncle (whose name also starts with "J") jumping into the pool.

Jason and one of his 3 aunts on this side - they are Reading; can you guess what letter her name starts with?

My older brother and his family.  Baby #3 will be here any day

Patiently or rather impatiently waiting for the group to catch up
Aunt C trying to "C"atch Jason!

A huge huge huge worm thing that my sister found; no wonder she is interested in biology and wildlife
A wonderfully adventurous log bridge we got to cross
Hiding behind the waterfall; that was cold.
After going on our helicopter ride
Can you feel the wind from the helicopter?
This is why they are called the Smokey Mts.
Wouldn't be amazing to live with this sight out your window?
Another group pic
Walking around some historic buildings
Jason's cousin and him "e"ating "e"ggs; guess what letter her name begins with?

Some playground pictures!  I love these pictures; they are so colorful!
Remember when it was that warm? :)
One of my absolute favs! This might end up on our wall somewhere!
The State Fair!!  We always have to go look at the piglets
Yes, that is a pumpkin!
We also have to have lemonade! But not just any lemonade; it has to be from a certain stand that makes the best kind
Aunt "K" is having a blast with Jason (Sorry, I had to put it in :) It makes me smile everytime I see it)
We found "K"ids and "K"angaroos to look at
Camels too;  it kind of sounds like "k"
Jason and with a carmel 'a'pple and his aunt whose name begins with 'a'.
While all the "older" people were resting; Jason and Mia had fun playing in the cool water
We always go to the new farming thing for Jason and Mia.  They get to learn what it takes to be a farmer

Getting their cute little aprons on
and buckets
Driving tractors
It's great to be exhausted from having fun!
Having a popsicle before we go

Can't for the Fair this year!
These last couple of pictures is of Jason and Mia getting ready to go out for some exercise.  At least exercise for me!  I get to push them! :)
That's better!
